For my loves

Death separates us less than life does!

Death is nothing at all.
You have only slipped into the next room.
I am I and you are you.
Whatever we were to each other,
that we are still.
I'll call you by your old familiar name,
and speak to you in the easy way we used.
I'll put no difference in my tone,
and will wear no forced air
of solemnity or sorrow.
I will laugh as we always laughed
at the little jokes we enjoyed together.
I'll play, smile, think of you
and pray for you.
And let your name be the name it always was.
And have it spoken without effort,
without the ghost of a shadow on it.
Life means all that it ever meant.
It is the same as it ever was,
there is unbroken continuity.
What is death but a negligible accident?

You are waiting for me,
somewhere very near,
just around the corner.
All is well.

I miss you terribly this day my love,
Miss you with a wound that stabs and aches.
I see the love around me, and it takes
So much strength simply just to move.
Soon, soon, my love, this waiting will be done.
You and I will have what we desire.
On days like this we'll sit beside the fire,
Undoing all the pain of days long gone

Miss me, but let me go

When I come to the end of the road,
And the sun has set for me,
I want no rites in a gloom filled room;
Why cry for a soul set free.

Miss me a little - but not too long,
And not with your head bowed low,
Remember the love that we once shared,
Miss me - but let me go.

For this is a journey that we all must take,
And each must go alone,
It's all part of the Master's plan,
A step on the road to home.

When you are lonely and sick of heart,
Go to the friends we know,
And bury your sorrows in doing good deeds,
Miss me - but let me go.

by Sue for her brother Nick

He was my trusted friend
I saw him leave
he did not come back
but we will meet again
our love will be the same
I'm sure, he will not forget
he is not here,
 but always on my side
he'll be watching over me!

My tale was told
and yet it was not heard.
My fruit is fallen
and yet my leaves are green.
My youth is spent
and yet I am not old.
I saw the world
and yet I was not seen.
My thread is cut
and yet it is not spun.
And now I live
and now my life is done.

Cludiock Tichborne

The mention of his name
may bring tears to my eyes
but it never fails to bring
music to my ears.
If you are really my friend,
let me hear
the beautiful music of his name.
It soothes my broken heart
and sings to my soul.

My soul longs to know you again
I stand here hoping for a sign
hoping for a thread to hold on to
My sight has grown dim searching for you.
When will you come?
When will you show yourself to me?
I may shrivel up like a wineskin,
I may be hounded by countless lies
I may be swept from the face of this earth
but I will never turn away from you.
What is there to live for,
if not for your undying love?
Oh  come alive in my heart,
Come alive, so that we may
once again
become as one!

Psalm 119

I will.

I will whisper your name.
I will carry your name in my heart.
I will carry it in my soul,
within my being.
I will whisper your name to every flower,
near every fountain,
in every beautiful place I will be.
I will whisper your name to the night sky.
To the moon and the stars.
I will whisper your name in the wind.
And I will wish for our dreams to come true!

Harriet

A part of you has grown in me.
And so you see,
it's you and me together
forever
and never apart,
maybe in distance,
but never in heart.

Unknown

Give me a smile,
I can keep in my heart
all the while you are away.

Till we meet once again
You and I.
Wish me luck
as you wave me goodbye!
